As for buying a tank, if you have a halfway decent LFS and you plan on going to them for either more equipment/livestock - there is a lot to be said about making an investment like a large tank with a LFS.

That is what we have done for our 120 build and everytime we have gone back after we dropped the dough on the tank, sump tank, stand, and return pump (all of which were gotten for below internet prices!!!!) we are getting DEEP discounts.

If you buy mostly everything online, then there is little to no need for buying through a LFS.

I would recommend going with any manufacturer that offers AT LEAST 10 years warranty on your tank. You wouldnt want to be $10K in to a 200 + gallon DT in 6 years only to have the silicone leak, only to find out that you are not covered, right?

For small tanks - not so important - but when you DT is weighing a couple TONS and not just a few pounds - I need to have peace of mind!!!

GOOD LUCK with whatever you do!!!

m-ocean, I built my own 200g DT. A warranty isn't needed because it is built far better than any tank you can buy.

On my tank, I am my warranty, not like I will ever need it.
