Where do you guys keep your dKH?

ive kept mine around 9. and luna is there a reason for it so high? just for informational purposes im asking.

 

1. Corals use DKH to be able to absorb Cal better. Cal help corals to grow faster and stronger. Since I like to buy frags, I want the corals to grow a little faster than normal.

2. Also helps to deter some algaes and parasites.

And some other things that I dont remember.

I also keep my Cal @ 450-500ppm and my Mag @1500ppm.

With your calc that high it is hard and way to much work without automating you dosing to get your alk up. Steady is the best.

I keep mine between 11 and 12. General rule of thumb is between 8 and 12, so I decided to shoot for the higher end of that. My reasoning is that if the dKh suffers a sudden drop it will still be within acceptable range. If your tank seems to remain more stable at a slightly lower range I would leave it there. What type of corals do you keep?

 

I keep mine between 12 and 15.
