Whats up yall.. I just got a scholarship recently for school this fall and on, which means I don't have to pay tuition. Hallelujah. So being that my moneys right, I might as well buy some stuff for the tank right? lol.

I've used a few diff sites to order coral, and really haven't been disappoint with any of them.. But I'm curious as to what sites yall prefer to order off of? I don't know about yall, but shipping price and extra charges (box fee, etc) play a factor for me. Then obviously, the price and quality of the coral once it gets here.. So where do yall order?

I have used most of our sponsors and several ebay auction vendors. I use the same criteria as you for purchasing.

Yeahh there's a few good sponsors on here for sure.. I've seen a lot of sweet corals on ebay, but the prices usually get jacked WAY up on those auctions.. Before I got my RBTA, I was bidding on one on ebay.. I think I'd made a $40 bid with like a minute or 2 left in the auction, and it ended up selling for 80 something lol.. Then I ended up buying the one I have now for 20 bucks haha.

You know I'm gunna have to agree with you.. Sometimes it makes me weary ordering corals I haven't REALLY seen.. Even if its WYSIWYG. Thankfully, I haven't got any unwanted pests.. Other than some mystery crab haha. Unfortunately, the LFS around my part of the country tax like crazy for good lookin corals.

Yeah some are nuts but most usually end cheaper than you could get otherwise. Summer is the best time to get corals at the auctions. Less buyers.

There are a lot of good online sites. I don't really have preferences, just which ones have what I want, when I want it. Many of the sponsors are quite good though. I prefer WSIWYG stuff though. I also buy a lot from an LFS. Some are just awful, but one is run by a great family of fair, no-nonsense people. There just aren't enough good LFSs, unfortunately, so I make an effort to support the good ones. Plus it's nice to see LS in person before buying, especially fish.

I have a friend that is having some great things brought in, no fish, just coral. He is very knowledgable and starts a lot of his frags for me at $5. I not only get a great price but he has also given me freebies.

Several of his ebay auctions start at .99 cents with a flat fee of $39 shipping fee for unlimited items with no handling or box fees.

I'm not sure if I can say his Ebay name or not.
