Where should i keep my zooanthids

Right now i have four frags they are all growing fast but i have them all on the sand and it seems like they are running out of rock to grow on should i put them on some live rock and how close to the top if i do thanks

 

They don't need much light so its not really necessary to have them up really high unless you want them there. One thing to consider is when they start growing and they will grow on whatever rock is near them. For this reason i have put a rock down on my sand and have all my zoas there, that way they cant take over the whole rock work once they start growing.

 

they can grow pretty much any place you put them and when they spread out enough on one rock mine have a habit of detaching and flying to another rock across my tank lol

 

They are very adaptable to wherever you place them. Just know they will grow over the surrounding rocks.

 

zoas are super adaptable and will thrive wherever you put them. if u put your plug on a large rock it will eventually grow into a large beautiful colony. however if you place your plug on a pile of live rock debris and empty turbo or snail shells then they colony will spread over them. once this happens you can cut the shells and debris away from eachother and you suddenly have dozens of small colonies! fragging made easy for us lazy fraggers! sell the frags or swap em for species that you dont have
