Well ive got my sons 20gal all ready to go for a mantis tank, seems like everywhere I look online they are out of stock. Anyone know a reputable place that has them in stock?

    Thanks,
    Tom

I got a peacock from Premium Aquatics in Indiana. (I noticed you're in Indiana but I don't know how close you are to Indianapolis).

If you have a LFS that specialized in saltwater, they can order one for you. That's how I got most of mine or people who got theirs as a hitchhiker. Smashers are mush easier to find than spearers.

What kind do you want? tbsaltwater.com has N. Wennerae $50 shipped. It is kind of a lot for a N. Wennerae though. I wouldn't pay more than $10 (which is the cost of the shrimp without the shipping). For a 20 gal I would look for a small odontodactylus species. stomatopod.com has some P. Ciliata which is a spearer type. Very cool, but maybe (probably) not what you want. Smasher types are what most people seek.

haha I just looked there. Yep $6. The one in the picture is a Neogonodactylus oerstedii, which IMO is a very cool looking species. They are also located in the area to get Odontodactylus havanensis which is my favorite species and one of the most interesting ones to have.

There are tons of different species on the keys, and I doubt he will be able to distinguish which is which unless he was a stomatopod enthusiast.

If he does have a O. Havanensis it will not survive 2 day shipping. N. Wennerae, N. Oerstedii probably, but definitely not O. Havanensis.

Got an email from Dana at cramers caribbean critters, he said he gets O. Havanensis, but doesn't have any in stock. He said he can get them easily from where he collects jaw fish.
