Great advise everyone. Thank you very much. I get the impression that either sump or D/Tank will work, the keys being to dose into a high flow area and not directly onto any of my organisms. Thanks again.

Swoosh part a and b in your mouth then spit into sump.

cdmorrison01, how old are you 5? I asked a serious question and expected a serious response. Which is what I got until your stupid response.

John - I have found that what you are dosing will determine where you dose. I'm in the process of setting up my first dosing pumps also. In my other tank, I used a drip system for the calcium and added the dK/buffer to my ATO, and dosed the magnesium by hand.

Calcium and dK and buffer I dose in the sump. The Calcium I move as far downstream from my return pump that I can get it and still be in the high flow area. I did this to avoid build up on my return pump. The dK and buffer aren't quite as bad, so they can be a little closer. Another thing to consider is that calc and dK should not be dosed at the same time. I use only SeaChem products, which have some good articles on the subject.

I have found that the magnesium requirement varies a great deal, so I test weekly and dose by hand into a high flow area of the DT if required.

    Hope this helps.

Also SeaChem has a dosing calculator app at their web site. It is targeted more towards their products, but might provide you with what you need.

I just bought that same pump a few hours ago. Can't wait to not have to dose every day it's gonna be awesome. Good luck with it.

Where was the humor? I can appreciate good humor as well as the next guy, however, your response, in IMO, was callous, not humorous and sounded as if it came from a 5year old child.
