I always like to buy small so I can watch them grow, plus they are a lot cheaper.

you can always try craig's list. You could also put up flyers in your lfs describing what you want. That way if a person does have a larger fish, they may see it and call you.

I dont mind getting them small but I have a coral beauty and a tang that are 4-5 inches and look tiny in the tank. I do have the owner of the lfs looking for me. He did find me 80 lbs of live rock free so I guess if anyone can he can. They say we will pass on a deal to keep this a fun hobby. I must say very good to deal with and very rare that a pet store taht want to help. Anyway I just cant find anywhere to buy them with seeing them you see ads but it makes me scared to buy without seeing or someone you know seeing them.

I never thought large fish were difficult to find.. i guess i'm spoiled by my LFS.. they've got numerous large tangs, puffers, angels.. I've got a clown loach in a FW tank thats about 4" long.. had him since he was a baby.. LFS has about 8 full grown clown loaches.. which are about 10" long and are solid.. of course you pay a premium for a large fish.. and the life span is shortened.. but i guess if thats what you want :] I just bought a 10" orange shoulder tang.. the rest of my fish were bought very young and I've watched them mature..

my lfs gets large fish in alot but most of the time they special order. have you tried asking about the special orders. let me tell you a grown fish could run you atleast a couple hundred dollars depending on the species. 400 was the quote on a powder brown that was a big as a dinner plate.
ebay or craiglist is your best bet if they don't do special orders.
also i was under the impression angels don't get along with each other

I own a landscape co and we install ponds. I do have an account at the local fish distrubution center so I see what comes in. I must say its tough because I do look and tehre is nothing out there. The local guy at lfs I use is looking but nothing there either! I dont know what to do there either.I am worried about the quality then the money so if there is a good place im interested!

My LFS always has enormous fish, but that works out poorly for me as I only have a 90 gal. Hippo Tangs at my LFS range from 40 when small to around 200 when large. Craigslist is a great place to look for fish. After all, how many rich people look at our hobby and see an easy decoration for their house, go out and fill a huge tank with huge fish, and realize its a lot of work and sell everything. In my experience that would be a lot.
