where can i find a sch 40 pvc gate valve. i am haveing a hard time finding one online. i was going to use bulkreef supply but they seem to only have sch80.

i guess a sch 80 would work, but dont want hurt the flow rate of the overflow at all. anyone have any idea how much it would drop it???

oh yeah , its one inch

Maybe HomeDepot or Lowes.? Know that both carry 40 and 80 gate valves here and cheaper than online.

If mcmaster carr does not have it, it isn't made LOL

Grainger usually will have most things as well. Now if you get metric fittings and such, then mcmaster carr is the bomb.

Go to a local plumbing supply place they will have it.

I tried finding one at 3 different home depots and none of them carry gate valves....just ball valves.

thanks, i think im gonna go with mcmaster carr. yeah i tried everywhere around here and no one had them.

on thing that worries me is that on mcmaster carr site it says that gate valves are for all the way on, or off. not supposed to use them to "throttle" back. which exactly what i want to use it for..........fine tune overflow for herbie method.....

Do not get those.... that is the new term being usUed for a gate.... but not the one you want. Got mine from U.S. Plastics. Had it 4 days. I went to all the stores, spa palces, plumbing supply..... not one in my town. A spa place tied to sell me a gate valve that had a sliding gate, open or closed.

If you have a local Savio or International Pond Supply dealer in your town they're a wealth of goods for larger tanks. Here they have PVC gate valves that go from 1" to 12" in stock usually.
