I am looking for a new tank. I am thinking something a long the lines of 55-65 gal, and I want it to be a short tank, not a tall show one. I am having a hard time finding one anywhere really. The only tank that I can find around me that is a shorty is a 40 too small:(. Anyone know where I can get a tank of about that size?

    Branch your search out..

I saw a 60 long a few weeks back that was sweet. Not tall at all.
I used to have a 40 breeder. Those are nice too.

I've been thinking about the 60 to replace my 20 long at some point. Sorry I don't have the dimensions handy, but it was nice.

Look on all glass website. If they list the dimensions you are looking for any LFS can order it for you. If Not you may need to special order it

I'd go with the 65 glass. Looking at it, I am sure that is the tank I saw before.

Jason has a good point, see if your LFS will order it... and match the price.

The acrylic is 140 shipped. I would prefer glass. My LFS is a bunch of idiots. And they will not order anything for me. If I want fish ordered lol I go to petco. 8 bucks for a big cleaner shrimp woot. Tanks selection around here sucks. The only thing I worry about is that acrylic scraches easy. This place will not ship a glass tank.

    Find a new lfs!

I prefer glass for salt tanks.

Another one in that range I thought of is a 75 show if you can find one. I think it's 5 feet long by 18 x 18. I have an acrylic version for my big turtle. A glass one for a reef would be sweet

Wow, that's far. You can call them up and see if they have what you want or will special order for you and how far will they deliver(doubt they will do 100 miles for free tho). If they do have what you want, then it's up to you if you are willing to travel the distant to get it.

IMO, 140 for the 65 is not bad in your case. I like acrylic because of their weight and the scatches can be buffer/remove out w/ a kit, although they scatches easy. I've never had one and would like to try it. I might be getting the 27 gal from them. :)
