Ok so my tank is about 2 months old now, I think I have past diatom stage, and def the hair algae stage, so what is this? Is this the cyno? More diatoms? Or is this dinoflagellates? Im a noob at this still so Im not sure how to identify these and not sure what "Snotty" and slimy are as far as this goes being I have not had the experience of either.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Looks like Diatoms. It's normal for new tanks to go through a brown diatom bloom. It should pass on it's own in a week or two.

Thats what I was hoping it was but noticed that as the day goes on it gets stringy. Wasnt sure if diatoms did that or not.

Try to slurp it off the sandbed when you siphon for your next water change. It will eventually go away :)

i think its diatoms, but it could be dyno..if it looks snotty with some bubbles..dyno is a poisonous algae, and you can tell when your snails start to slow down, it will eventually kill the snails and everything else that eats it..

im gonna lean pretty strong on diatoms, but dyno would be a good thing to keep an eye, only cuz you said its look like snot..not trying to scare you either...hope this helps
