I am stocking my 100 gallon tank and can;t decide between Bartlet or Lyretail Anthis. I want a trio (male and 2 females). Has anyone kept either?

Bartlets are apperently one of the easier and lees agressive ones. I loved my lyretails, but get the Maldive variant. They are hardier according to some.

I like the Lyretails, but I have some, so am partial. I think the Bartlets may be a bit less aggressive though, and stay a bit smaller.

I like the lyrtail.......we had 5 of them in our tank for a while (before they got cooked from the heater malfunction)

My recommendations on getting any type of anthias (they are deepwater fish).....make sure they are eating and look good in the store. I wouldnt buy any anthias when they first come in (depending on the supplier they are not harvested the best, some will gradually bring them up and allow the fish to adjust, but most will puncture the air bubble so the fish dont get the bends which causes a lot of loss in these fish)

the second is to hook up an automatic feeder, these fish require several time a day feedings. We would feed frozen 2x a day (small amounts) and then would have an auto feeder feed dry 1x day

I have 1 male and 2 female Lyrtail in my 125 and love them. We feed 2 to3 times a day. The male is from Live aquaria by fed ex and the female are from Premium aquatics we picked these up in person and they eat almost any thing, except flake food. they are very active fish.:)
