A couple months ago I renewed and upgraded my Norton antivirus. Since then I've had unistall and reinstall the program (first time program was corrupted) and I can't upload pictures from my camera. The same camera I've been using on this computer for 2 years. I'm ready to eat the cost of Norton and go with something else, any recomendations?

back up your data and then reinstall when necessary.
as long as you don't download stuff from questionable sources(kazaa, limewire etc) you won't get a virus more then every couple of years.

Norton is a giant piece of bloatware anyway. Go with Avira, or Avast, IMO.

Thanks guys. I was thinking Avast. I don't know alot about computers, could I uninstall Norton and install every week or two and run a full system scan untill Norton runs out? Or would that be bad?

I run Avast on all my systems. Best I have found...... for free anyways.

I did a lot of research/testing and ended up with the AVG Internet Security. It was not free, but the least obnoxious to deal with. This was after my husband was so frustrated with Webroot Spyware & Antivirus that he uninstalled it, and got slammed with a major virus. Good luck!

I run a mix of Avast and Avira on my systems. It's a better strategy; not every antivirus catches everything, and what they catch doesn't completely overlap, so you get at least some protection against the fringes.

I don't like AVG. I used to use it on everything, but not anymore.

Just uninstall Norton, install Avira/Avast, and don't look back.
