    that's true linux still isn't quite there yet compared to OSX or windows. But if you aren't afraid to work on a few things its awesome, with alot of programmers writing some pretty awesome apps for it(talking about a pet project level and small team project level).I have never had such a awesome OS as my tweaked ubuntu it's still relatively simple to use too(ubuntu is kinda linux newbie OS), especially with things like software centers and package managers. My biggest peive is flash functionality for games is kinda choppy at times but I dual boot with 7 so I just go over to windows for games.

    but man that apple-tax is brutal;D.

    The newest version of Ubuntu has fixed the Flash issue.

    Personally, I love Ubuntu. Very stable, fast. Easy to setup and use. Just about the best of all worlds.
