Yes, they are ASTM D7081 (american standard testing methods) certified marine biodegradable, made in Iowa by Telles which is joint venture between Archer Daniels Midland and Metabolix (a MIT spin-off).

Our does NOT contain any fillers, binders etc and is 100% PURE PHA

I guess my vote is for Dr. Tims. I'll be ordering some soon to replace my BRS pellets. Just wish I had come across them earlier lol.

I'd most likley go with vertex...
reason is that a bio pellets are mainly at the same reason for it does...
2nd is that the local fish store J and L aquatics has them for 35% off regular price on Dec 26. this coming end of the year...
I'll be using It for my 40 gallon frag tank and I'm trying to figure out where I can get my hands on the CPR reactor...
    ;)

Any more thoughts on this? I am leaning towards Ecobak but I respect what both Jon and Tim say in these forums so not exactly sure what to buy. I am looking for a little help in lowering nitrates and phosphates.

I have been 100% satisfied with Ecobak. I plan to use them again on my next tank. Both Jon Warner and Dr Tim are very bright guys in the industry. I am sure they both have trusted products. I can only testify that the Ecobak is a top notch product because that is what I use.

I use WM Ecobak and a large WM skimmer. Nothing else for filtration. No carbon, No GFO. It keeps nitrates and phosphates at near 0 and I feed much heavier than most hobbyists.
