I have LED light, skimmer, heaters, chiller, calcium reactor, GFO reactor, Carbon reactor. Which equipment should be on/off during cycling?

I heard people say skimmer should be off, some say it doesn't matter if its on.

    Thanks

Thanks Daniel. Hmmmm......light is another debatable thing. Some dont have them on, so it will help to eliminate algae.

Personally, I would run lights, heater, pumps.

No need for reactors when it's not stocked (??). Skimmer is a preference I guess, because I've heard it both ways.

Lights is a preference thing maybe? It could give your cuc something to eat after cycling. :)

Let some of the experts weigh in though.

I wouldn't run skimmer, it pulls out organics and you want them to help cycle

i was told to run heaters, skimmer, and lights.

Skimmer will help pull out nitrates and phosphates

Skimmer, heater and pumps. No need for light unless you have corals in there. Heater isn't necessarily needed until you have animals that need the heat. Pumps so you have water circulating to the batcteria ion your rocks. The skimmer can be set to skim dry to keep from removing as much DOC at the start.

Heaters and a small circ pump got me going. No light no skimmer. For me it worked well.

About to cycle my new tank too. What if I wanted to get ahead of the dosing and have tank ready to accept corals as soon as possible. Could I start dosing cal/alk/mag from day one?

OP if you have LEDs why do you have a chiller??? Usually these are used on mh set ups. Unless you don't run ac in your house lol.
