My Hippo Tang is the most curious fish I own. People call me crazy, but I swear it plays hide and seek with me.
My PJ's are cool too, but they creep me out. They always look paranoid. Like you just caught them doing something wrong, but then their face froze.

+1 for hippo tangs. My baby French angel is quite a curious little guy, has lots of personality for an angel. Neon gobies can be pretty good as well.

For me, my Clownfish and Lemonpeel Angelfish have always had the most personality in my tank.

I also like Chromis and Blue Eyed Cardinal Fish. They both do great in large groups.

    as far a reef fish:
both my wrasses are cool to watch and feed, my foxface now is really really fun to feed and watch. I will always have clowns best fish ever ;D. my yellow watchman goby was also a great fish full of personiality.

as far as non reef fish:
puffers are alot like dogs, literally. a buddy of mine has a big one in a 200 gallon tank and when you walk by, if it has not been fed or dosent get enough attention that day it squirts/spits water at you lol
