Which Goby for 30gal?

I want to get a goby, but I don't have a "tight" fitting lid. I have a about 2/3 of the top of my aquarium covered with glass, and my T5's over the open area, but they are up about 5-7". What are recommendations for my lack of a "tight fitting" cover?

 

I had a yellow clown goby with no top...he never made any suicide attempts...and as tiny as he was he was still my favorite fish...

 

My recommendation would be to make a tight fitting cover.

Any fish can jump at any time. Some are more prone to it than others of course but you run the risk of any fish jumping.

Something to prevent jumping isn't difficult or expensive, there is 1/4" pond netting available online and you can pick up a DIY screen frame kit and use the netting in place of regular screen which makes a perfect cover that doesn't impede light and will prevent all but the tiniest fish from jumping.

Ive got a watchman and he chills at the bottom, hes a fast lil ****** but never tried any suicide attempts and I have a open top with canopy. Im more worried my stupid clowns are gonna jump out.

 

I've had a watchman jump, through egg crate as well, they definitely can and do jump.
