I was looking at Aquactinics I took those aspects in consideration and the ATI has some of them too. Thanks for helping me decied which one would be the "best" for my tank. Not saying tek is the best just as of right now its the right one of my tank.

Great fixture. I flat out love my Tek. I know there are other, higher end fixtures, but for the money they are just awesome. I run UVL Superactinics x4, Actinic Whites(12000K) x2 and 75/25(14000K) x2. It just plain rocks. I don't keep SPS, but my other corals are thriving (softies and LPS). Looking at getting a clam this weekend. We'll see.....;D

You will definetly be able to keep SPS with the 8 lamp tek, now its just a matter of picking lamps. I would go with ATI for better PAR and if you plan on any daylight lamps just use GE as they are cheaper and are still going to put out good PAR values.

    Good luck!

LOL!!! Well, my former set up was a 6x55W PC array. Not the best in the world. So, I didn't even try the clams and SPS. Just did softies and some LPS. They did OK. Not great, but OK. I am going to start stocking with a few easy to keep clams and skip the SPS. Later on, I'll do an SPS based tank. I don't want to mix the two.....watch chemistry, flow, etc tends to be a bit different and I don't want to compromise the health of either just to have both.

WRT the bulb selection and SPS, I think it will support them just fine. I intend on getting another Tek to go over a 36 inch tank, get roughly the same in bulbs and then start an SPS tank.

A 1:1 combo of Aquablue and Blue+ will give you a slightly blue tint with great PAR values. A good place to start before you start experimenting with other lamps....
Some say 3:2 Aquablue to Blue+ is a good start but I think the 1:1 is more suited for most.

What do combo would make it more blue? I want a little more blue than just the tint of blue.

I would stay with the equivalent of 12000K for daylight and run 420 actinics. Wouldn't bother with the bells and whistles. If you want, you could sub in 14000K equivalent, that will lean a little on the blue side, but I wouldn't go overboard with it.
