Which octopus skimmer and what the difference?

    whats the difference between the
    Hurricane 1300 2X; Hurricane 1500 Shorty
    and the Hurricane 1500?

    they are all very simmilar in each way including price so was wondering thats the big differences between them and what is better such as more height, 2 pumps, more flow etc
    any input would be great

    I doubt anyone her has any experience with those. Don't really know if it is the Australia version of Reef Octopus or another company.

    Seems like a standard skimmer. Don't know what is available in your market. Most of todays skimmers are going with bubble plates to reduce turbulence. The one you posted were standard back a ways.

    If you can get Reef Octopus in Australia...owned by CoralVue, those are good units and good prices. Don't know if you get European stuff.... look up Vertex... a company owned by Royal Exsclusive. High end company....Vertex makes Vertex Alphas a high end cone skimmer.....Vertex IN series is there econo line and offer very good performance at very good price. About the best bang for buck out. Maybe you can get Bubble Magus....

    So to answer your question.... doe snot matter really tall and skinny or short and fat. The volume for the given size will be about the same I assume. Everyone has size constraints so they try to fill the needs.
