I am sure its decent since its an octopus, but I would still prefer the BH-100F over it. The 300 does not have a surface skimmer or a filter chamber, plus all the pumps are external (meaning they will be inside your tank, along with the wiring and tubing that comes with them), so it will muck up the look of the tank. Just my two cents.

    what about these two
Octopus BH 1000 Hang on Back Protein Skimmer by CoralVue - AquaCave
this seems like it would do some damage(in a good way)
also here is a different 300
Reef Octopus BH 300F Dual Hang-on-Back Protein Skimmer with Filter System* - AquaCave

my answer to your question is i think yes and no, since there are two i could take out stuff twice as fast, but would stop skimming when one with a single would. it would be like having 2 100's with in-tank pumps. but it wouldn't be able to pull anymore out then one.
i think it what would allow it to be better
is more bubbles in the same space as the 100,
the water sits in the chamber longer.
and smaller bulbbles. but the 300 offers none of those

edit, this is also why i don't recommend using two smaller rated skimmers on a bigger tank.

HI, I have a BH- 300 in my 68 gallon tank and it works very well at getting all the green skummy rubbish out of my tank but i have only had it running for 3 weeks on my new tank and it made millions of micro bubbles! they completely filled my tank!. I was advised to put a honeycomb filter in the outlet which has helped but it still produces micro bubbles so i was told this will calm down in time, so its a waiting game for me.
    K:confused:
