From what I understand... the smaller micron prefilters of the Spectrepure system will extend the life of the DI membrane over other units.

That being said. I have a Air Water Ice 75GPD unit. I have had to replace the main filters twice in the last 3 years, when my TDS started to creep. My membrane is still delivering 0 TDS to this day. All in all, I am very happy with the unit.

I agree on 4 stage, but only because a 3 stage unit isn't a RODI. It's RO only (carbon + micron + RO filter). The number of stages is a meaningless qualifier past this.

BTW, jonjon, wait for AZDR to post his piece about how long his Spectrapure RO membranes have lasted haha. I think he's on like a decade with his.

    Thanks for the advice.
Spectrapure has a 4 stage ro/di with dual tds meter 90gpd for $165 shipped to my door. Ill prob go that route.
I'm pumped for some water that I can actually tell its good insteadof lfs water.

No tds meters tho. But they do have a cool digital one for 30 bucks. Hmmm from what I hear tho spectrapure is the best. Maybe ill get the spectrapure unit with no tds meters and then buy the brs meters

you would defeat the purpose of saving a few dollars in just the cost of shipping.

If you're looking at the DM-1 HM digital meter, that's the one that comes on the Spectrapure units. If you're looking at TDS-3, that's a handheld unit, which is just more of a PITA to get readings from all of the necessary places - before RO, after RO, and after DI, and you're going to end up neglecting your filter.

    Yup.
