Which skimmer would work best for my 120g Tank with 40g sump.

    Bubble Magus BM180A

    Bubble Magus BM200

    Bubble Magus NAC8

    Bubble Magus NAC9

    Bubble Magus Protein Skimmer BM150

    Bubble Magus Protein Skimmer BM160

    Reef Octopus Extreme 200

    Hydor Performer Protein Skimmer 2000

If I can talk my dad into lending more money in then I am definatly getting an ATB 840 but I have to have some backups and as you see I am leaning towards the Bubble Magus because I have heard pretty good things about them, I am just wondering what would be best for me?

Bubble Magus performs well, but it is a budget skimmer. ATB is top of the ine. There is plenty in between.

BM uses Atman pumps which are OK, but nothing notable. They do the job. Not so sure about their bigger skimmers cause the numbers are just not adding up.

Best bang for buck I would do over BM is Vertex IN 250

For anything with a scicce PSK-2500 it will work. But they can start backwards and there is no point these days. So for your tank that pretty much leaves out SWC

The new Sicce 1000 will get it done with no directional start problems so that means the Octopus Extreme 200

Aquamaxx uses Sedra pumps which are really good performers. Look at a AS 200 or 250

The next best to the ATB would be a Bubble Blaster pump on the SRO 2000 or the cone XP 2000.
