Which skimmer for a new 210G system?

My NW doesnt pull crap. I have tinkered with it and set it every which way. My water level is constant but I am lucky to get a cup of skim mate a month. The only time it worked properly was when I used red slime remover. I have cleaned it, taken the pump apart, even tryed the mesh mod and still not anything. It does make some skim mate but it seems to all get caught in the lower cup and not the collection cup. But I have heard great things about the vertex. So thats why its on the list.

 

That's too bad. Most folks are happy with the Octos. Not sure what is up with the way you have things now, but I would still go with a NW/venturi over injection type skimmers for the reasons I gave. Again, EVs and Bullets skim well, there is just better ways to skin that cat. Seems Vertex's are one of the best bang for bucks running right now.

 

So I pulled the trigger. The other day I noticed a Aqua C EV180 slightly used on ebay for $150. It comes with a mag drive 7 as well. There where a bunch of people bidding on it over the last few minutes. But I won with a bid of $250. Now I cant get it in my sump and start cutting some baffles. Thanks for all the help and reccomendations. I am sure I will be very happy with this skimmer

 

Congrats. The Mag 7 is the standard, but it will run much better with a 9.5. Just go to their web site, get the instructions, and plug it in.

 

Never used the others but I'm happy with the bullet 2. I have one pump running return /skimmer/reactor. Works great.

 

Yea I may upgrade the pump, but I will hook up the mag 7 and see how it does first. Again thanks to everyone for all the help
