Both are excellent. I think the PM is considered to be better.

I installed one of the Reef Octo NWB skimemrs on a customer's tank a month ago. They love it. Super quiet and works well. My only issue with it is its small collection cup.

Really? I've never heard that. Usually they get decent reviews, but I have not seen anything spectacular. Usually great build quality, and okay performance. The ROs are always a good bang for the buck. If you can spend a bit more, the Super Reef Octopus (SRO) skimmers use the bubble blaster pumps, which are some of the best pumps out there, out of the box out there without modification. Also, look at SWC, Aquamaxx and E-shops, they are all very good for the money.

I have a Reef Octopus and love it so far. Adjustments are a breeze to make and the build quality is excellent.

Reef Octo sure has a great reputation, but if you want to save a bit and still get a great skimmer go to Bulk Reef Supply and check out their line of Bubble Magus. Outstanding product.
