Ya... comparisons can get rough, but make no mistake... as far as budget skimmers, Bubble Magus has carved out a very secure place of offering good performance at a very good price. And yes... there are plenty that just want a job performed at the lowest price and Bubble Magus does a great job of that. Now you have money left over to spend in places more important to you.

Yea, bubble magus has some great reviews and I plan on writing a review on this to show how well or how bad it works because I havent seen any on this current model. As for spending the extra money, I went economical because I have an led system that I am currently saving up for as well and we all know how pricey those can be :p. I am pretty sure this one will however out perform coral life. But what I am wondering if the pumps in this model can be changed out, I was thinking of putting a better pump inside of it to make it even more effecient.

Seriously... we can talk about comparisons and better pumps... but if it isn't broke don't fix it. Plus, even though it is done in stages.... replacing a pump on a brand new skimmer is not the most ecconmical way to do things. Don't sweat the Atman. It does a job. If there comes a day you need to replace it well look at your options then.

Just keep in mind you do not need extra capacity. That skimmer is much bigger than you need. So don't even bother thinking of putting a bigger pump in it to boost performance. That leaves you with finding a pump that puts out similar numbers to what you have and will also hook up and can be run internal in the body.

I'm sure once you get things running for a while that the pump and skimmer will fill your needs just fine and upgrading the pump will be moved to the way way back burner.
