Which Tang?

    Id have to guess at least some sort of tang from the Acanthurus. The top image sorta reminds me of a Mata Tang or Elongate Tang.

    But as for it cant really give a 100% ID other then Acanthurus.

    Thanks. Actually both pictures are the same fish. The first one was with flash, but overwise the fish is black.. Maybe with same blue fin tip..

    The names are often used interchangeably. Same general family of fish.

    Tangs and surgeonfish are synonymous. The surgeonfish name is from the very sharp spine they have at the base of their tail.
