    Sparky, isn't the "proprietary" cords just simply a computer cord? All the other ballasts I have seen are simply computer power cords.

    The cord supplying power to the ballast is a common computer type cord, but I'm not referring to that cord. I'm talking about the cord from the ballast to the bulb. This is not an ordinary 120V ended cord. The ends require the use of a certain manufacturer's cord.
