And it's of a genus I didn't include on my list, intentionally. ;)

I have carberryis and they still have their color so far at 2 months. They eat NLS pellets though so that may be the reason.

Hmm. Maybe you got lucky, I had a harem of 5 that were fed everything from spectrum, flake, live brine, frozen mysis, ect. They all ate like pigs but would never hold the weight, nor retain color. I had em for about 1 year before I ended up taking them back to the fish store.

Brightness of the tank could be a factor there.

I know with many anthias species, such as square backs and ventralis, if you keep them in a brightly lit SPS tank, they'll fade. Keep them in a lower light LPS tank, and they'll retain color.

Remember, the most colorful anthias come from deep water (dim conditions).

Hmm not something I had considered before, but that does seem likely, since it was at the time had 2x 250 MH + 4x 54watt T5 on a 70 gallon.

I fully agree. The fairy wrasses are usually pretty good towards each other. Leopard wrasses can be tough to get to eat prepared foods.

Yes, they can be not reef safe.

While not a fairy wrasse, my favorite under 100 dollar wrasse is the radiant wrasse. Plus because its a halichoeres wrasse, they eat flatworms and pyramellid snails.
