All of a sudden i have this white film on the surface of the water

It all started when I added additional powerheads to the tank, and I cant seem to get it to go away. I have been wet skimming and it only seems to get worse,

Any methods to get rid of it?

do you have one of the power heads pointing toward the surface to break it up? If not i would try that it should help with the skimming also.

The surface of the water looks like a whirl pool

that was the first thing I thought and its not working any better

You can "sponge" it off with a paper towel.

You can use a surface skimmer like this one Turbo + Oil Free Surface Skimmer

or manually, put an A4 clean paper over the surface, wait 10 seconds, remove it and put another one until that white film is gone 80-90%.
However, this phenomenon happens because of the fat in the aquarium.
    You need a skimmer.

turn your power head off for a sec and let it get sucked into your overflow

you have to re arange your power heads they're creating a stagnent area on the surface and the water can get to the overflow.

No matter you'll arange the power heads, the fats will stay at the surface because of differences between different surface tension of liquids.
For example, put some oil on a glass of water and shake it. You'll only break the oil film but the oil will stay there at the surface.
Like I said, get a skimmer.

Read his post, he has a skimmer.

Yes, oils will always float, but if they get "pushed" towards the overflow, they no longer be on the surface of the DT.

Maybe his skimmer is not properly adjusted...

all you need to do is adjust the powerheads so they break the surface of the water and do not push all the water away from the overflow like evolved said. Check your skimmer also to make sure its working correctly but im guessing moving the powerheads around will be the fix.
