When ever I turn my return pump back on, after I feed, I always get a bunch of white pieces of something blasting out of it. kinda looks like Teflon tape but there is no way that is still coming out of my threaded fittings after over 2 weeks.

I think it may be some kinda film algae that dries up a little while the flow is off and gets blasted into my tank when i turn it back on.

Any way i can prevent this or even get a good idea of what it is?

Its off right now after i eat ill try and post a video of when i turn it back on.

my guess is that its just some buildup in the pump and or return lines. the only fix i really see would be taking you pump apart for a quick cleaning.

It's most likely a bacterial film growing inside the plumbing. No worries...it happens.
