So I noticed yesterday my starfish has a blob of white gunk on him. I have no idea what it is.. its still there today I did touch it.. It didn't come of, and I didn't want to go tugging around on him so I just left it any idea what it might be?

He seems to be doing okay, he's moving around acting normal... Does anyone else have any clue what might be going on?

Can't tell from the picture if it's coming out of the orifice on their back but if it is then +1 infection. The orifice is the outtake from their hydraulic suckers.

Gotta leave that for more experienced folks than myself. I'd say that pulling an encrustation growing out of the orifice could probably do damage to the surrounding tissues. That said most starfish can be cut up into into pieces and as long as you have a piece of the nerve ring that circles the center of the star it should regenerate into a new star.
