White polyp I.D.

    Sorry my pictures are not very good. It is an old camera but here are two pictures plus my description. The rock has alot of small bnranches coming out of the rock. At the end of the branches it has white polyps and some has two polyps. The polyp's are pretty small right now. They are not bleachd as they have been here for a few month's. I havent been able to find anything like these. Any idea on what they are. Here are two pictures but the camera is old. and not of good quality.

    arent the real white white polyps from the colder deeper oceans?

    IMO could be sponges. saw something that might look like what you have in DD on LA under NPS

    they are polyps with fringed edges and a mouth in the center they come out of the end of the branches like candy cane branch off of a skeleton..
    and I dont understand the DD on LA under NPS?

    sorry for the abbreviations :) im convinced they are spider sponges.

    Can't really tell from the pic, but I had some palys that came in on some live rock and they where bleach white when I first got them.

    Now they have colored up significantly, but that may be what it is...
