    Hi gsenn, Welcome to 3reef!
It may in fact be ich...what I would do is(for a reef tank) slowly decrease the salinity of your tank to around 1.010. Leave it ther fore a week or so til the ich subsides. Once this happens you can gradually increase your salinity to the desired 1.024-.26.
If it is a fish only tank then a copper medication should help.
The result of this ich problem is either temperature fluxuation or stress to the fish, which needs to be addressed!
Best of luck and hope you enjoy it here at 3reef!
    TOM

Hi gsenn and welcome to 3reef.

Is it possible to remove the fish and quarantine it?

I imagine it is, but I don't have a quarantine tank, I have bght so very few fish in the last 10 yrs that I never kept a sick tank up, he is acting fine, eating well, have 2 cardinals, 2 clowns in tank, which look ok so far.
