This morning my Yellow Eyed Kole Tang was pure white. It looked like a ghost of it's normal self. Now it is back to almost normal, but it is a little bit on the pale side. Any thoughts?

have you done anything to stress it out lately? Same food? My yellow tailed damsel changes from a lighter blue to a darker blue depending on his mood, stress level, even time of day.

Did anything unusual happen lately? When I put my yellow watchman goby into the tank he is in now, I found him out one night shortly after and he so pale he was almost white. I had spotted in him with a flashlight and thought he must have been in shock. But he was back to normal the next day and I never saw the problem again.

Mine do too. Especially in the morning after they wake up, they're all pale. Off and on through the day the color varies. I saw one of them a greyish blue color once and was worried, but an hour later he was dark blue again.

Nothings changed in the recent past. I haven't added anything in about a month now. I didn't change anything either. The only thing I can think of is that I've been feeding a little less.

tangs will change color frequently when they sleep...very scary to see. I think that it is dead...but many fish do that. I am guessing that it is some type of protection while they sleep...harder to see? Maybe blends into the rock and sand better? My tangs turn very pale and my rabbitfish turns gray with all these circles over it.

More then likely you just never saw it this close to waking up.....

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Keep an eye on him. As long as he returned to his proper color I wouldn't worry too much.
