Ok so I have an opportunity to buy a, roughly 3in whitecheek tang for a descent price. They have always been a favorite of mine but haven't ever seen one on sale in a long time. Currently I have a 75 gallon reef tank set up, that I've had up for about 4 years now but I am planning on upgrading in a year-year and 1/2 to either a 280 or a 300 gallon (currently buying equipment pieces at a time) and was wondering how fast the whitecheeks grow? Would it be ok in my 75g for a year or so? It's still pretty small but some fish I've seen grow at rapid rates and wanted to see if anyone on here had any experience with these guys?

I would wait until you upgrade. It will likely take a bit for it to "outgrow" the tank, but I don't recommend attempting it. Diver's Den has them for sale pretty regularly, so you should always be able to get one in the future.

i agree with Marshal. You would probably 'get way' with it but it can wreck some fish.
