Pretty much everything is automatic. The only thing that mods choose is the Community Highlights on the home page, as far a I know.

Mods don't control which threads are on top. They move as people post on them. Stickies at the top of a page / forum are always there as a useful tidbit of information, and mods can sticky a thread. Other than that, they move to the top as new posts are made in the thread and move down if no new posts are made.

Seriously? You think that someone moves the threads around all day long?

It happens exactly as ZachB stated above. Threads are automatically put in order by most recent post. Stickies are always at the top. This is because they usually contain useful information relevant to the main topic of the channel and should be easily referenced.

LOL.....good heavens. It's hard enough for us to get things moved out the the General Reefing Forum or the ASAP Forum and into the proper forums. (Folks, please remember this for your next new thread. If you put it in the proper forum from the start, it really helps us).

Trust me...no mods are moving things to the top of the forums. The only type of thread that will move to the top of the forum list without a new post is a poll. If someone votes on a poll but doesn't make a comment, it could appear that it was moved to top by someone.

    lol. it's automatic dude.

When someone posts in a thread it bumps it up to the top. Hence people that post "bump" so something won't get lost.

    Inwall,
Thanks for the explanation. I was about to think there was some sort of program that intercepted some threads based on content. It looks like you have your hands ful. K+
