what do you want these clowns to for? breeding or just being buddies?

100 dollars is probably the range my lfs would sell a pair at but as said before you could just buy 2 small 15-20 dollar juviniles and let them grow into a pair.

What people are missing in those fish is that they are tank raised. Tank raised fish are more expensive, and I would always pay more for tank raised than wild caught. So me? Yeah I think they are a good deal. Plus they are already mated, which is good. I don't like to watch the violence as two try to pair up.

yeah, i was going to make the comment on the tank raised.
Thats another reason why they are abit more expensive than your regular wild caught fish. ( tank bread are a lot better than wild cought.)
Even then, though i think i would still stay with the cheaper ones.( im just cheap lol) but I like to see nature take its course and see them pair up. Plus, in the LFS you can get to see them eat, check for anything abnormal, and they wont go through the shipping stress.

I bought two false percs when they were about the size of a quarter a piece..Its been about a year now and there hasn't been any violence between the two that I have seen. They just seemed kinda like a normal married couple every now and then during the process..the woman staying in the bedroom and the guy out trying to find a place to rest his weary head lol. I think I paid 50 total for the two. Though I'm not against dropping large sums on them kcbrads are particularly beautiful fish.

i got a pari of perc a year ago from my lfs for i think 45 bucks which seems fair for me since he was the one the bred them and they are very heathy.

Your tank raised are more expensive than wild caught? We sell tank raised for $14.99 and wilds for $24.99 (when we decide to get them in).

I have to disagree with you right back. "mated" and "paired" are terms used to increase prices. There is no practical way to prove that they have mated. You can tell if they have paired though. Those terms are used to lure those who don't know clowns will pair over time to spend more money on the same fish. The increase in price does not justify the adjective.

Buy two clowns w/ one slightly smaller than the other and give them time. They will eventually pair up. It isn't like the two you want are a special morph. if they were, I'd say go for it. it is hard to find quality clowns of different morphs. I would buy them from DD over a LFS that charges $100 less just because I know what DD does in their facility.
