I am definitely a gadget guy and i have both a macbook pro and an iphone but the Ipad seems like it will fail to be that hybrid between an iphone and laptop that people are looking for. when you get past the cool new ways to navigate and organize files i think is will have some short comings when people try to multitask with it. you cant rly play any games outside that of what the app store provides and im a skeptic on the battery life as well.
overall i just have a hard time picturing myself taking it somewhere that i could not use my phone or laptop. im not going to whip it out to get directions and im not going to bring it to the library to write a paper, and i dont plan i carrying a "man bag" so i can bring it with me when i goto starbucks. like i said its cool but i have trouble figuring out where it will better "mobil me".
just my 2 cents... or maybe 3.. sry :)

I pre-ordered the 16gb wi-fi verison because I'm def a tech freak. I absolutely love my iPhone but am intrigued by the iPad. I have a netbook already for anything in-depth I need to do. I basically want something I can pick up and quickly turn on and surf the net with or check e-mail or 3reef (of course). I have cruddy vision so the iPhone is great but a little small sometimes. I am looking forward to seeing what developers come out with in the app store for it.

i'd love to get one to play with.
it's a wierd in-between device - won't replace my laptop or my phone - so i can't justify the cost, even though it is pretty cheap.
i don't think it'll beat the kindle/nook devices in ebook sales, because of the backlit screen - the 'ink' based screens are much easier on the eyes.
