    Oh no let's not get into that. Let's just say one person really can mess things up for the rest of a crew trying to put on an event, and for people attending the event. Being in a storm in a tent outside sucked for some vendors....

    MACNA is owned by MASNA... Marine Aquarium Societies of North America (IIRC) Every year member clubs bid on hosting a MACNA the next year. This last year GIRS bid was the winning bid.

    LIek Curt mentioned, a great aspect of these events is being able to mix with all the speakers the entire time. Most are hobbyists as well ;)

    Stick with it though, MACNA really kicks in once you hit 21 :D

    If you treat them with respect (i.e. they are not there because you paid them to be there and on the flip side, they also aren't there because they are Gods), you would be surprised at how accommodating they are.
