    OMG you people are terrible the crabs are so innocent!!!!! HAHAHAHA COMPLETELY JOKING i love to see mantis shrimp tear, smash and spear things to pieces and will be buying a peacock next week :)

    im glad to hear that, if you think about it, mantis shrimp are pretty gladiaters! and we have the task of finding them opponents,which is fun,i like going to the store and looking at all the potential victims

    Sorry I missed this. Yeah they do. Each eye has their own brain that works kind of like a preprocessor for their vision. This gives them the best vision in the animal kingdom. They are the only animal known to man that can see circular polarized light.

    My guy, Fister always goes for the claws first too.

    Not sure if you guys knew this or not but Mantis shrimp are also among the fastest animals as well. They have been clocked at speeds better than 30 body lengths per second. I have seen this while filming my mantis. One frame he was sticking completely out of his den and before the next frame (1/30 of a second later) he was turned around and completely out of view in his den. He left nothing but a dust cloud.

    So they have the fastest movement of any animal- there arm movement, the best, complex vision in the world, and can move super fast, pretty awesome for something so small
