who thinks oscars look "cute". I think they are far from cute and look like a round blob with smaller orange blobs on it with their buggy eyes.

The only thing I will give them is they have an AWESOME personality. I just so happen to get stuck with an oscar or it would have been in the toilet, I'm not that mean, so I took it off the guy's hands and ever since then cared for it. NASTY EATERS, BUT ENTERTAINING. the fish jumps 5" out the water just to grab his food from my hand.

It gets better, he begs for MORE FOOD.

I would have loved this fish alot if It looked halfway decent, but the fish is just so damn ugly.

I had an oscar, that did all of the above. Awesome fish.

The best was feeding some minnows. Just wait until it's full, and swims around for 1/2 hour with another fish's head poking out of his mouth.

Cute, NO WAY but the do have personality. I had a breeder pair and they had lots of babies and they make very good parents. I was the only one that could go in to their room when they had babies, and they left the babies out. But when someone else went in they would catch the babies in their mouths to protect them. When coast was clear they would let them back out. Definately an experiance that I would reconmend to others if they have lots of room.

I used to have one and my favorite part was the shower of goldfish scales in the tank after feeding.

    oscars are fun.
whenever i worked for a lfs i always spoiled the hell out of them. a mixture of beefheart, blood worms, brine shrimp. they loved it. i also threw in some larger feeder fish and earth worms every other day. they were happy campers :)
    carnivorous fish ftw.

a tattoo shop in town used to buy pinkies for their oscars, i never saw them feed though.
