Who will fix a ballast?

    I have a 250 watt metal halide and the ballast just stop working. I dont know why because i have only had it for 3 months. Do you know who would fix one??? Maybe home depot or a LFS or anybody!! Please help??? I think the fuse blew but not for sure because it said it will last for 5 years. HELP!!!!

    If it's magnetic (heavy, gets hot) then I'm afraid to say it's a paperweight now, as these things are sealed in an asphalt type of material after they're built. Opening them isn't an option.

    If it's electronic (lightweight, doesn't get too hot to the touch), you'd be pretty fortunate if you were able to get it fixed, as the diagnostics to find out what's wrong with it might not be worth the cost when compared to the price of a new one.

    You might contact the manufacturer if it's under warranty.

    That's what I would recomend, find out who made it and see what kind of warranty they have on it. I really can't think of anyone who has a 5 year warranty on a MH ballast though.

    What brand is it?

    I doubt anyone has a 5 year warrenty on a ballast it is just they said it will last for 5 years!
