It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Do a water change of 20% and retest a couple hours after. If you can not do a water change than dose slowly to bring it up to 8 over the next 24 hours.
Aiptasia control products rarely list their ingredients. Sometimes they use an acid which will lower your ALK, sometimes they use a base which will raise your ALK. Regardless the swing in ALK probably stressed your corals. Just correct it slowly.

Much appreciated thank you so much for the advice. I'm about to do a 15% change and see if I can do one more will check alk again in a few hours. Hope everything survives

as you're changing the water i would blast some of the coral with a baster to try and get a lot of that stuff off. I did that once also and a bunch of my polyps swallowed the stuff but after 3 days they came back to life thankfully.

I suspect aptaisia-x is more or less kalkwasser dissolved in water. It probably spiked your pH and caused a precipitation event where your ca and alk precipitated out of the aquarium resulting in a lower value than before the event started. This was probably quite stressful, but there probably isn't any contamination or much you can do besides try to bring the ca and alk back up (slowly). As we don't know exactly what's in ap-x it may be worth running some GAC and doing some water changes, but likely the damage is done and therefore hopefully what survived will survive.

    Good luck.

my mistake wasn't dropping the bottle but squirting the stuff on the aipstasia with the circulation pumps running and I dumped the whole syringe in the water lol. turned it into a snow globe. unfortunately in this hobby a lot that you learn is from mistakes lol.
