Yes Bruce, Killer whales are dolphins. Albeit, very large dolphins. :)
Not sure about the 'false' killer whales.

Inbreeding is when you reproduce with your immediate family....brother, sister, cousin..etc. ;D  I don't think wild animals do this very often. ;)

Apparently , these wholphins have occured in the wild, however....I don't really agree with doing it in captive animals, but apparently, this occured all on its own! so.....Love was in the Air I guess... ;) ;D

And, apparently, the mother is a hybid herself! (I was wondering how they figured the baby to be 1/4 and 3/4 split in genetics)

BL - I think cause the mom is 1/2 Bottlenose & 1/2 False Killer Whale, and the dad is pure Bottlenose, baby girl only gets the 1/2 false killer whale, and the other 3/4 is Dolphin... but i'm very far from being a Genetics Guru.

Yeah, that is correct (1/4 whale and 3/4 dolphin) but the article did not state that clearly...I was a little confused at first, having bred lovebirds for color in the past ;) :D
