No if it detached on it own, it left all together.
where ever it does decide to atach it, give it a few days /week let it get settled and "snip" the head off if you wish.
Or you can catch the little fart and put it in a cup with some rubble in the cup and lay it in the water (forse it to attach to some decent sized rubble )
then place in good light/flow area , it should be fine.

I use bridal veil netting to hold mushrooms down. You can get it at walmart. It is called toule I think. Just put the mushroom in place, wrap the rock in toule, and rubber band it. Make sure your rubber band doesn't cut the mushroom by being too tight. I normally just wrap the toule around the rock so when I put the rock back in the weight keeps it in place.

This works great. In 4 days just take the toule off. It is real cheap so you can toss it when you are done.

I also just ran into the pump problem with not cleaning them. Pump maintenance is important.

i usually place them in a low flow area on gravel for a few days.it attaches to the gravel then i can place it where i want it and the gravel its attached to will weight it down until it grows onto the rock its on.

Its probaly already attached to the sand.

They pop off their heads from time to time as a way of reproducing, "budding". Where it popped off from will grow a new head.

As for the coral beauty, you might want to check for stray voltage or atleast get grounding probe if you dont have one already. The pump could have been shorting out and zapping your tank.

yea, I use shot glasses, clear, heavy enough not to float away. mushrooms move, either when wanting to relocate, propagate, or just simply to die. have had several bleach, and release. caught them, put some small stones in a shot glass, and added the shrooms into the glass. put it in a bright spot in the tank and they all grew back.
