I spent a lot of time researching light fixtures.

I really liked the idea of an all-in-one sort of solution... I wanted 1 power cable, actinics, daylights, and moonlights all integrated into one unit. (this fit under "other" in the poll to me)

I ended up doing even better and getting the timers built in as well.

    I love my lights.

It appears that so far, quality is far and away, the leading motivator. Keep 'em coming, folks.

I think if the first option was "value" instead of "lowest price" it would be a bit closer.

That's a good consideration. Perhaps value should have been added in addition to lowest price, as they are definitely not the same thing. :)

Well, he knocked me up only 5 months after we got married so it's costing me a lot more than the price that I was originally quoted

That would have to be my lights. Must have spent about 4 months deciding that one. I ended up saving up the money until I got the one I REALLY wanted. Went with ATI fixtures.

Mine is a combination of price / quality / value. I will spend more on the product if it's going to be higher quality and perform better. However if it's cheaper but obviously a better value or perform better then I would go with that product. Lots of stuff to consider but I would rather pay more and buy once. Good reviews are also a big part of the decision.

Good quality for a good price. I've spent more time researching bulbs than anything. Except the algae scrubber not sure if that counts it's homeade.
