Why do I fear SUMPS :)?

I too, feared sumps. I was right to fear mine, but not due to flooding. It just hates me & does crap to be contrary. It was quiet the first couple weeks, then we fixed a small leak and I was living in a brewing coffee pot. Had a friend drill a hole to break air flow in case of power outage and he also put an airline in the standpipe hole. Nice and quiet!

Until we did a water change last night. Turned it all back on & were living in a flushing toilet. Messed with the return pump, the skimmer, the inflow. Still a toilet. Pulled the airline out...quiet! Put it back in...still quiet! It's trying to slowly drive us insane.

But my shoes are safe! ha!

So far, so god, MoJoe. We did 2 more water changes & no noise LOL.
A coworker of mine sent me that signature line, her dad sent it to her!
