Why do skimmers...

overflow 8 gallons of water in the middle of the night into a 5 gallon bucket?

 

Been there zesty although without the bucket - at least 3 gallons on my floor back when I had my hang on skimmer!

 

Yup, I had about 3 gallons going thru the floor. arrrrrrg. I plugged the drain hole and now if it overflows, it's back into the sump. (Things I wish I would have done from the start)

I was just glad I had some saltwater mixed up and ready for a water change. I had a meeting I was going to be late for, and I am NOT a morning person.

 

yes, not a fun thing to wake up to in the AM that's for sure. had water dripping down into the basement and hubby not too happy - I didn't have salt made up so quite the hilarity watching me scramble on that in the AM - and I am with you - I am not, nor have I ever been a morning person

 

oh hell no morning should start at 10. PS that sucks about the skimmer

 

Only 3 gallans...one should be so lucky lol

 

It's probably my fault. It's a new skimmer, so I may have just had it turned up too high and then it decided to give me the finger in the middle of the night.

 

running around with the robe and bunny slippers on?

 

Get it right they would be fish slippers but that sucksabout the skimmer

Well, here's where my skimmer level sits right now. Now I say, don't overflow!!
