    I keep my drainplug capped and hanging inside the sump then every few days I pull the tube out of the sump and drain it. I used to have it draining into a cup and like many of you woke up to a wet floor one morning.

    For one of my tanks using a HOB skimmer, I run the drain into a small container. I use a float switch connected to my Reef Angel to shut the skimmer off if it ever overflows. So far it has saved me once!

    For my in sump skimmers, let them overflow back into the tank.
