Sorry to inform you but, if the problem is a website having viruses linked to it you being on a mac won't change or block issues with the site.

technically it will help, if the virus was developed to attack the windows kernal vs. the mac unix base.

If the virus was developed for both (unlikely + nearly impossible unless written in a x-platform language) then it'd be a problem.

If the virus was meant to use an exploit in firefox/safair/ie/ie4mac then it really depends on what browser you're using.

What I meant was, the site will still show signs of problems on a mac os or windows os. Whether it infects your computer is another story. Yes, you are correct with it possibly helping depending on certain factor. With so many switching to macs I think there will be an increase of viruses and other malicious software being written for mac os's.

Google picasa is my favorite. photos.google.com

the google checker is exactly like mcafee siteadvisor (free mozilla add-on). It will place a red x or a green checkmark next to site search results to let you know if they are bad sites or not. Kind of a heads up.
Example of google search results, note the green checkmark:

I would also recommend download malware bytes, update it and do a full scan.

    Download link:
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Reviews and free Malwarebytes Anti-Malware downloads at Download.com

It is one of the best free apps to rid annoying behind the scenes viruses.
